CatholicCare Sydney is the official social services agency of the Catholic Church in the Archdiocese of Sydney. We are a leading not-for-profit agency providing care and support to people in Sydney across a wide range of social services.

We are looking for Community Support Workers who want a rewarding role providing professional and person-centred in-home support for the daily living needs of seniors in the Sydney Metropolitan area.  Greek and Italian-speaking workers are currently in demand.  

The role may include assisting seniors with: 

  • Accompanying clients on errands and appointments 
  • Domestic assistance
  • Meal preparation
  • Personal care
  • Social Support 

Position Details: Multiple permanent part-time positions, casual positions will also be considered. 

Selection Criteria

 Applicants must be able to demonstrate the following: 

  • Ability to undertake the duties of the role in accordance with CatholicCare’s Mission, Vision and Values; and Code of Ethics and Conduct 
  • Minimum of Certificate III in Aged Care or Home and Community Care or related discipline, or working towards this qualification
  • Good written and verbal communication skills and ability to work independently and unsupervised
  • Sound understanding of the issues facing aged people and carers
  • Ability to build professional rapport with others and maintain a person-centred approach to all activities 
  • Sound organisational skills and the capacity to successfully manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
  • Current Drivers Licence and access to a registered roadworthy motor vehicle
  • Availability to work flexible hours
  • Ability to use a smart phone
