About the Role

We are seeking a Caseworker to provide clinical and operational support for our Children’s Contact Service. The service uses a therapeutic, integrated case management model of supervised contact, working with separated families who present with complex needs and high risk.

  • Working closely with the Practice Manager and one other Caseworker, the role is responsible for
  • Undertaking thorough intake assessments for clients with particular regard to family violence and child protection
  • Delivering a range of child-focused children’s contact services including: enquiries, case management, cross-disciplinary collaborative practice, and supervised contact for court-ordered families with complex needs and high risk
  • Ensuring client case files are up-to-date and relevant service delivery data is entered in our Client Management Information System to fulfil Government administrative requirement
  • Assisting with operational & administrative tasks such as responding to subpoenas, creating staff rosters, and basic financial administration

Position Details

  • Part time: 3 days per week, plus flexibly rostered weekend shifts
  • Maximum duration to June 2022
  • Located in Sydney CBD & Redfern

About You

  • Tertiary qualifications in social sciences, e.g. social work, psychology
  • Demonstrated capacity and skills in working with separated families impacted by high conflict and multiple complex issues, including family violence, mental health issues and alcohol & drug addiction
  • Demonstrated understanding of child protection, domestic & family violence, and relevant legislation and practice standards
  • Demonstrated excellent communication skills including experience in writing contact reports
  • Demonstrated capacity and skills to undertake operational tasks, including managing client files and data using an online Client Management Information System
  • Capacity to work weekend shifts as a Senior Contact Worker
